Information for you to consider:
Positioning & Securing the Wheelchair
The Freedom Van is built for both the wheelchair user and passengers, offering easy access with a gently sloping ramp. Wheelchair passengers are securely fastened with either restraints or a docking station, ensuring safety while maintaining clear visibility inside. The wheelchair user sits low and centrally, providing a comfortable ride and easy interaction with other passengers.
Parking of our Disabled Vehicles
The Freedom Van features a rear wheelchair ramp, allowing you to park in any space without worrying about clearance on the sides. Unlike side-entry vehicles, our design ensures you’re never blocked by other cars parking too close.
Wheelchair Vehicle Safety
The Freedom Van is stronger than ever, featuring a structural safety cage around the lowered wheelchair access floor for added protection. Each component of the conversion is rigorously tested to ensure safety and reliability.
Warranty
There is a warranty period provided to the original purchaser of a vehicle from Freedom Motors, which applies to all work performed (Conditions Apply). You can be assured that we will look after you with services/ repairs, even after the warranty period has finished.
Professional Advice
Before purchasing a vehicle, it’s important to get proper advice. Car dealers may not be equipped to recommend the right wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Start by consulting your Occupational Therapist to determine your needs, including the type and size of your wheelchair. If you plan to drive, a professional driving instructor should also be consulted. Once you have this information, you’re ready to contact Freedom Motors Australia to discuss your vehicle conversion and access options.
