Positioning & Securing the Wheelchair
The FREEDOM VAN is built with the wheelchair user and the driver and other passengers in mind for the simplest of operations. Wheelchair access (entry/exit) on the gently sloping wheelchair ramp is quick and effortless. Securing the wheelchair passenger inside is given the highest priority for safety, whilst ensuring maximum visibility from inside the vehicle. The wheelchair user is positioned low down and centrally in the vehicle, which ensures a smooth, comfortable ride, and making it easier to talk to other passengers.
Parking of our Disabled Vehicles
One of the most distinctive features of the FREEDOM VAN is its rear wheelchair ramp access which allows you to park in any parking spot, regardless of clearance on the sides. Unlike side-entry wheelchair access vehicle conversions, we designed our wheelchair conversions so you are never blocked by somebody parking too close beside you.
Wheelchair Vehicle Safety
The FREEDOM VAN is even stronger than before and on the forefront of automotive adaptive equipment design. It has a structural tubular safety cage surrounding the converted wheelchair access lowered floor.
Warranty
There is a warranty period provided to the original purchaser of a vehicle from Freedom Motors, which applies to all work performed (Conditions Apply). You can be assured that we will look after you with services/ repairs, even after the warranty period has finished.
Professional Advice
The most important step in finding the right wheelchair access/ mobility solution is to get proper advice first before purchasing anything. We believe car dealers cannot appropriately advise you on a suitable vehicle for wheelchair access as they have no experience within this department. The first person to consult is your professional Occupational Therapist. An important factor to consider is the type and size of the wheelchair you use. If you intend to drive the vehicle yourself, a professional driving instructor must also be consulted. Once you have information provided by these professionals, you are then ready to contact Freedom Motors Australia to discuss your vehicle conversion, wheelchair ramp and access needs.
Design related questions:
- Where do I park mostly?
- How do I get in and out of the vehicle?
- How will the wheelchair and occupant be restrained?
- What is the wheelchair access entry height into the vehicle?
- What is the internal headroom inside the vehicle?
- What size is the wheelchair, and will it fit?
- How many seats do I need inside the wheelchair access vehicle?
- What is the visibility from the wheelchair position?

Comparison
Freedom Motors Australia does not compare their wheelchair access vehicle conversions with their competitors because we know that we are providing you with the best wheelchair vehicle conversion possible for a reasonable investment from your part. Aspects such as functionality, safety, finish, and quality are of high important to us. You may find that some competitors will discount their wheelchair access conversions solely based on getting you to sign up with them, but remember that they will need to cut corners to complete the conversion for the money quoted. Others will offer you more expensive wheelchair access conversions and vehicle features that you won’t necessarily need. Be assured, that if you decide to put your trust in Freedom Motors Australia for your wheelchair access vehicle conversions, you will not be disappointed with the end result.
