In May this year (2024) we received the exciting news that our Hyundai Staria conversion was completed and was ready for pick up at Freedom Motors. Our young son William, has a very rare genetic condition that has resulted in severe Cerebral Palsy and he requires a powered wheelchair(PWC) for mobility. His wheelchair weighs a staggering 200kg so we knew we would need a wheelchair accessible car as soon as he started to use it. Shauny from Freedom Motors has been a dream to work with. We held an initial meeting with William's OT and Shauny to determine which car we needed to purchase based on his PWC. She then went through the conversions avaliable as well as the process to apply for these modifications. At all times Shauny and Freedom Motors have been pleasant and patient, answering all our questions.
The modifications are amazing, we went with the family design so William is sitting in between his two brothers, as well as the Dahl docking system which makes getting William in and out of the car incredibly efficient. We also got the fold down rear seats allowing us to accommodate two more people in addition to our family of five. These modifications to our car are life changing, ensuring William can travel easily, comfortably and most importantly, safely. Thank you Shauny and Freedom Motors!
