Dear Sir, During the past 12 months this service has purchased two Kia Carnivals of which each has been converted to one wheelchair position. We formally used small minibuses equipped with wheelchair hoists but found we were not using these to maximum capacity. The purchase of these people mover type vehicles has been to us extremely successful. The conversion itself is of high standard. Having viewed a conversion in progress I was very impressed with the quality of materials used. We have had some very positive feedback from our clients who all prefer to travel in this style of transport. Our wheelchair clients are practically impressed as they state that they feel more secure as they sit lower in the vehicle and suffer less sideways movement. They also state they have better vision from the vehicle. The vehicles are very easy to drive and highly manoeuvrable. This is particularly so in and around town. I cannot speak highly enough regarding this type of conversion and would recommend it to any person or service.
