Wheelchair Vehicle Conversions, Wheelchair Ramp & Access Designs

Positioning and Securing the Wheelchair

FREEDOM VAN wheelchair vehicle conversions are built around the wheelchair access & passenger with the driver / partner / carer in mind for the simplest of operations. Wheelchair access, entry and exit on the gently sloping wheelchair ramp from the vehicle is quick and effortless. Securing the wheelchair passenger inside the vehicle is given the highest priority for safety, whilst ensuring maximum visibility. The wheelchair user is positioned low down and centrally in the wheelchair access vehicles, which ensures a smooth, comfortable ride as well as making it easier to talk to fellow passengers.

Parking of our Disabled Vehicles

One of the most distinctive features of the FREEDOM VAN is its rear wheelchair ramp access. This allows you to park in any parking spot, regardless of clearance on the sides. Unlike side-entry wheelchair access vehicle conversions, we designed our wheelchair conversions so you can never get blocked by somebody parking too close beside you. FREEDOM VAN gives you total wheelchair access freedom.

Wheelchair Vehicles Safety

From a safety standpoint, we made the FREEDOM VAN even stronger than before, with a structural tubular safety cage surrounding the converted wheelchair access lowered floor and is on the forefront of automotive adaptive equipment design.

Warranty

The warranty for the wheelchair access vehicle conversions is covered by a THREE YEAR / 60,000km hassle free warranty. When you purchase disabled vehicles from FMA, you can be assured that we will look after you, even after the warranty has finished.

Professional advice

The most important step towards finding the right wheelchair access & mobility solution is to get the proper advice first before making any decisions regarding the purchase of wheelchair access vehicles. (Car dealers are the last persons to advice you on your mobility needs, disabled vehicles, wheelchair access & wheelchair ramps). The first person to consult and to obtain input from is your professional Therapist. Another important matter is the type and size of wheelchair you will be using to travel around. If you are planning to drive, a professional driving instructor must be consulted. Once you have the information these professionals can provide, then you are ready to contact Freedom Motors Australia to discuss your vehicle conversions, wheelchair ramp & wheelchair access needs.

Design related questions.

  • Where do I park mostly?
  • How do I get in and out of the vehicle?
  • How will the wheelchair and occupant be restrained?
  • What is the wheelchair access entry height into the vehicle?
  • What is the internal headroom inside the vehicle?
  • What size is the wheelchair and will it fit?
  • How many seats do I need inside the wheelchair access vehicle?

Comparison.

FMA does not need to compare their wheelchair access vehicle conversions with their competitors, because we know that we are bringing to you the best wheelchair vehicle conversions possible for a reasonable investment from your side. Things like functionality, safety, finish and quality are most important to us. You will find that other competitors will discount their wheelchair access conversions solely based on getting you to sign up with them, but remember that they will need to cut corners to complete the wheelchair access conversion for the money quoted. Others will offer you expensive wheelchair access conversions and disabled vehicles features you don't really need. Be assured, that if you decide to put your trust in Freedom Motors Australia for your wheelchair access vehicle conversions, that you will not be disappointed with the end result.
